Part 17 After Deadline Fixes

1

2.

3. First I fixed my lighting by increasing the ambient light and then experimented with the angle of the main directional light. I also changed the ambient shade on my grass because it was too bright. It’s a shame I didn’t realise this before the deadline, I should have stood back from my project to look for any mistakes. I know that I tend to have a nasty habit of making everything dark but no more. I will stand back more often in my 3rd semester to see if I have gone off track.

4. I know that I really need to work on my presentation. I am not the best designer I am more of an artist but I do have inspirational moments.

Part 16 Final Renders... with Problems

Part 16

1. Deadline coming fast and there are mistakes that I have missed or over compensated for. I rendered 15 minutes and came back to it looking like this, so I had to change the ambient colour on the grass again.

2. Going well with the lighting.

 3. I can't get the grass just right... it's because the clump of grass can absorb more light easily than the long two sided grass.

4. I can see quite a few mistakes bur its deadline time…

9.Rendered this just after presentation…Then I used the levels in Photoshop to increase the light.

Part 15 2 day Background Environment

  1. Environment Moulding

2. Set at 50% and it took one hour and now I really need to sort out the light which I will do when my environment is complete..

3. Changed the light direction slightly and changed the brightness of a few of the lights.

4.

5. First images show a geometry problem that the direction of the light can’t reach, it makes a black shadow face on the terrain. (Just the texture on the model as it's without normal maps.)

6.

7. Light fog tests

8.

9.

10. In the bottom right I have added more variety of plants so that it looks wilder and has a more natural feel. (The low resolution renders are due to me trying to save time.

11.

12. Added an ambient light because my level was a little too dark (as I realised when looking out of my window into the countryside).

13. Looked through the Maya window on default lighting to see if there are any hovering objects or accidental deletion.

14. Started to increase the ambient shade on the texture so when the polygon face isn’t in light it will have a lighter shade instead of giving a really dark shade.

15. Drew my own trees

16. They can be arranged into different varieties of trees. (changed the bark colour to more of a dark brown.)

17.
18.

19. Quick Water test

20. When finishing of the normal Maps, I discovered when carrying out experimentation on my environment that I was doing most of my normal’s wrong.
